Chris Roth

Board Advisor

Chris Roth (Board Advisor) is seasoned entrepreneurial executive with more than 30 years of experience in acquiring, integrating, and developing businesses. He is skilled in developing high-performance leadership teams with a focus on growth, process improvement, customer satisfaction, core values, and performance accountability, which helps business owners run a successful business or obtain a profitable exit strategy.

While studying at a vocational high school, he started working for an HVAC contractor at the age of 16. At 19, he began teaching at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) in his first adjunct instructor position, and in a few short years, rose to become Department Chair of the Air Conditioning department.

Roth eventually became an HVAC contractor, building several lucrative businesses over the years. The latest – Climate Control Experts, was the first company where Chris engaged a Next Level Growth Business Guide. The company spanned 6 states and made the Inc. 5000 list for 3 years running before selling to Private Equity in early 2020.

Simultaneously, Chris set his sights on solving the skilled labor gap with the purchase of a Las Vegas-based trade school, National Technical Institute (NTI) in 2018. Chris had Next Level Growth engaged for this acquisition before the deal was even finalized because he understood the value it would bring to growing the new business. During his role as CEO, the school has expanded to 3 states and launched an innovative, national program for teaching the trades online. NTI has grown from 71 students in 2018 to now over 2000+ annual graduates. Not surprisingly, under Chris’ guidance and working with another Next Level Growth Business Guide, NTI has made the Inc. 500 for three consecutive years.

In 2018 he started 189 Investments, a microcap private equity investment firm, to invest in companies he is passionate about. With a track record of bringing his own companies in varied industries – including staffing, manufacturing, and home services – to sustainable profitability with a well-paid exit plan, many owners sought his guidance. Today, he currently helps a select number of growth-minded entrepreneurs find true wealth and freedom within their businesses.

Always eager to learn and improve, Roth attended the Birthing of Giants Fellowship Program in 2019, an educational course for owners of growing companies. It turned out, that Roth created what they now call “The Perfect Business Model”. Roth went on to become a resident speaker for all fellowship classes at M.I.T. and Princeton, speaking to business owners on Financial Business Model Transformation, and has been invited to speak at Oxford University in England.

Roth studied Engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He also holds a degree from the University of Phoenix business degree with an emphasis in Marketing. Roth has learned to follow his passions, which led him to pursue his private pilot license. He enjoys golf, travel, and spending time with his family. In the summers, you can often find him in Coeur d’ Alane, ID.
